Have I understood this correctly? If (hopefully) I’ve misunderstood and Tinderbox container actually syncs with SimpleNote’s Dropbox folder, that would mean it should be easy to redirect a Tinderbox container to sync with any generic Dropbox folder. My understanding from reading Tinderbox help, etc is that Tinderbox container syncs with SimpleNote server, not with SimpleNote’s Dropbox folder. Thanks to nvALT, I can see images in a note’s preview. If they don't, you won't need the quotes. The quotes are important if your file names contain any spaces. So if you select all the text in a paragraph and. You see that I add an identifier to the image files, too. From the 'File' menu, point to 'Open command prompt,' and then select 'Open command prompt.' To rename a single file, you can use the following command syntax: ren 'currentfilename.ext' 'newfilename.ext'. The main database files are in /Library/Application Support/Notational Data. It is usually written in reference to a root directory. This makes it trivial to keep and sync a local copy of the pages, refactor things wildly. Why: Interoperability that would blow my mind I’ve been using Dokuwiki for years for one of the same reasons that I’m excited about Obsidian: it runs on a directory of simple text files. I’d like to not rely on SimpleNote as an intermediary. A full path or absolute path is a path that points to the same location on one file system regardless of the present working directory or combined paths. What: I’d like Obsidian to be able to read and save files as. The name of the last file will become highlighted. I already use pretty good (if not superior) text-editing apps for generating notes and storing in Dropbox. To rename multiple files from File Explorer, select all the files you wish to rename, then press the F2 key. I would rather not have apps with overlapping functions, if possible. For example, page renames properly go everywhere, so no fear of renaming. To SimpleNote’s credit, they apparently encrypt files during the synchronization process (to/from server). file name, will either send a notification email to. From their FAQ page: “due to the need for searching your notes from the web, the contents must remain unencrypted while in storage so the software can find your search terms.” I’d prefer not to share my notes with a small company that probably has an unclear business model/future. To capture and keep track of all my notes I uses nvALT on the Mac and Notesy on my iPhone and iPad. I’d rather not give yet another company access to my notes. Rename-Item C:temptest.txt -NewName test.log -Force. This way each file that is passed to the cmdlet will be renamed. If you need to rename read-only files, then you can use the -Force parameter. Separately, it can sync with a Dropbox folder, if you’ve turned on that setting in SimpleNote. By default files that are marked read-only or files that are hidden won’t be renamed. It seems SimpleNote syncs notes through its own server. Note:Tinderbox container :: file:Dropbox folder
